WHAT ARE HOLLOWCORE UNITS? Hollowcore units are pre-stressed concrete panels constructed with hollow cores running from end-toend and reinforced with prestressed high-tensile steel wires or strands. Hollowcore technology was developed in Belgium some 70 years ago and has been refined as the result of 70 years of research and development. It is used extensively throughout the world. The combination of hollowcores, high-strength concrete and prestressing, results in a relatively lightweight durable and strong panel which materially outclasses in all respects any conventional flooring or pre-cast system.
